glass, ceramic, pen & ink
Having been raised in a family which valued self-expression through the arts, we learned several disciplines at the knees of our matriarchs, one of whom held private shows well into her golden years. Because of their influence, realism and abstraction were always juxtaposed in my heart. Over time I have grown to love the form of realism expressed through graphite, pen and ink, and photography. Ceramic is a wonderful mix of form and chemistry where the earth adopts renewed meaning and purpose. Most recently, I have come to admire the freedom of abstraction through glass and it’s ability to be dynamic yet perceived as static.
