Studio #6  - Ceramics, Alpaca Fiber

As an alpaca farmer, my goal is to use all fiber harvested from the animal.  Based on the quality of the fiber either wearable products will be produced, or housewares such as rugs or pillows. Alpacas have an array of natural colors that are used to create color contrast, but with my love of strong colors, I dye before sending to the mill and will use a blend of natural and dyed colors to create the product.  I am also a ceramic handbuilder, creating, functional pottery that has been described as fun and whimsical.  For texture I use lace or found objects that I will imprint on the clay and layers of glaze to create depth.
