Deborah Nagano

My artistic practice centers on creating collages using a wide range of mediums: oil and acrylic paints, oil pastels, hand-dyed paper, alcohol inks, and epoxy resin. Each collage includes images I have painted myself. Living in the Pacific Northwest, I draw inspiration from the region’s natural beauty, which is often reflected in my landscape works. I’m passionate about bold, vibrant colors, infusing humor and whimsy into my pieces to evoke smiles or provoke thought. Sometimes I tell stories for the viewer to complete, like iconic figures in unexpected scenarios. Ultimately, I strive to balance beauty with playfulness, inviting viewers to see the story within.
